Something New Ceremonies
Ceremony Coaching & Vows for Nearlyweds & Officiants
I believe...
Love is beautiful, and every new tradition reimagines what came before.
There are so many ways to build a life with someone you love, and traditional marriage is not the only story love can write. These days when partners choose to get married in a world that doesn't require it of them, marriage means something special—and it means something different to each of us.
Wedding ceremonies have always sought to bless a couple's union by repeating the traditions passed down by our ancestors. But the old rituals of past generations may not reflect your 21st-century relationship. Your marriage will be uniquely yours, so your wedding ceremony should honor the magic of your unique love story.
My mission is to help you create the wedding ceremony of your dreams. You'll make sure your wedding reception truly represents you, and your ceremony should be no different. From writing your vows and selecting meaningful readings, to customizing a script for your officiant and guiding the marriage license process, I offer everything you need to make your wedding ceremony as personal, beautiful, and as easy as possible.
To help you personalize your ceremony, I'll ask you and your partner about your story and what marriage means to you. I'll meet with you to explore if there are family, cultural, or religious wedding traditions that are important to you. And since there's no longer-standing tradition than that of reinventing tradition, I specialize in creating new rituals to honor unconventional, queer, multicultural, and interreligious relationships.

Love is magic. Love is sacred. Love knows no bounds.
I'm a writer and public speaker trained in ritual arts and liturgy design. I'm ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and I received my theological education and training from the University of Chicago Divinity School. My philosophy is that all ceremonies are a form of storytelling, and your wedding ceremony is an opportunity to tell a love story that only you can tell. Each relationship is already a collection of stories: some cultural, some familial, some personal, and some religious (or not). I'm passionate about working with couples to create the wedding ceremony that conveys their unique story and helps lay the foundation for their next exciting chapter.
